Available in 50 shades, the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear Foundation is formulated with SPF 15 and designed to provide medium to full coverage that lasts through ultra-long days. It’s supposed to maintain skin’s pH level so that color stays put and doesn’t crease or fade. Add being transfer resistant, fragrance free and non-comedogenic to the mix and this foundation seems to do it all.

Lancôme’s Teint Idole liquid foundation has been around for years and I always overlooked it. Don’t hate me for saying this Lancôme, but the brand still carries a bit of “grandma’s makeup” associations. We should all move past this though, not only because makeup can be for anyone, but because we might be missing out on amazing products like this one! I know I was.
On a daily basis, I like a base that’s sheer to light coverage, and I generally go for dewy finishes. But there are times, say for special events, where I want a more polished look. This led me into Sephora in search of a reliable foundation with good coverage that actually matched my skin and its undertone. I worked with a Sephora staff member and we proceeded to try at least 6 foundations and didn’t think any of them were right; they were all either too yellow or too pink. My Sephora helper was now determined to find a fit for me and came back almost giddy holding this frosted glass bottle. A swatch on the side of my face and neck and voila! I walked out with shade 90 Ivoire N, for fair skin with neutral undertones. (At the time, this was the lightest shade in the range, but they’ve added new shades recently and now there’s one even lighter for my ultra fair beauties out there!)

I love this foundation, but full disclosure: I don’t use it every day. This really is more of a special event pick for me. It’s medium coverage with one pump (which is all I ever use) and has a soft matte finish. If you have dry skin like me, do not over apply this or else it can look a little too makeup-y. If you’re oily though, this is supposed to absorb oils throughout the day with ingredients like silica and perlite, so I could see this being a great option for combo or oily skin.
I like to dot this on my face with my finger and blend out with a sponge. If you wanted to take this foundation in the full coverage direction, I’d recommend a brush instead. I focus this on my cheeks, where I have the most redness, and it does a nice job of evening out the tone of my skin without looking mask-like.

This is a winner in large part because it is incredibly longwearing. Once it’s on, especially if you spritz on a good setting spray (I’m currently using the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist by Tatcha) this really doesn’t budge. I don’t worry about it transferring onto people’s jackets or lapels when I hug them either. I recently wore this to a formal event and it lasted the whole night. When I got home, my blush had faded but not my foundation! It looked the same as when I left the house.
Sidenote: To create the smoky lid look above, I did it all with the Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol 1 Palette. See my full review of the palette here.
I am so happy that I discovered this foundation. I love that I was able to find a great match amongst the 50 shades and that it does all the things I want it to: covers my redness, applies evenly, doesn’t smell like perfume, stays in place for hours and makes my skin look pretty flawless.

Great content! Super high-quality! Keep it up! 🙂
