Alamar Cosmetics lip products consist exclusively of nude shades in their DesNUDEas Lip Liner and Lipgloss formulas. Although there are only a few colors available, they are designed with inclusivity in mind to provide a nude lip match for a range of skin tones. The brand recently released their lightest Lip Liner shade, Birthday Suit, with a corresponding Lipgloss and I picked up both to see if this could become my perfect nude lip combo.

The DesNUDEas Lip Liner and Lipgloss in Birthday Suit is my very first Alamar Cosmetics purchase. I bought the Limited Edition packaging of the Birthday Suit Lipgloss, and unlike their other gloss packaging, this tube is shorter and chubbier as well as clear, so you can see the pink gloss through it.
Birthday Suit is described as “a universally gorgeous pink, diamond-dripped gloss.” It has tiny blue shimmer in it that doesn’t feel gritty at all and it smells like a vanilla cupcake. I was surprised that the doe foot applicator is really flexible and bendy, which is not my favorite because it makes the gloss a little harder for me to apply with precision.
The formula and overall texture of this gloss is unique. It’s a really thick formula, but it doesn’t create those dreaded lip gloss strings when I tap my lips together. If you want a gloss that feels weightless on the lips, steer clear of this. I don’t mind the thicker texture, but I definitely feel like I’m wearing product when this gloss is on. It’s totally worth it to me because this lipgloss is incredibly high shine and lasts an eternity. Seriously, I wore this for four hours before eating and it was still so shiny and present on my lips that I blotted it away with a paper towel before I ate. And although this took the shine down, I still had gloss on after blotting! It’s not transfer resistant, but I have never used a gloss that lasts this long on my lips. It wins a big gold star for this reason alone.
I like the pinky shade of the Birthday Suit gloss on its own, but it pairs really well with the Birthday Suit Lip Liner.
This is Alamar’s lightest lip liner shade, and although they describe it as “a light-pink nude”, it doesn’t come off as pink on me at all. It’s more of a tawny brown.
The formula is really impressive: creamy and soft, with no tugging on the lips at all, and easy to apply along the lip line and fill in everywhere.
I think this could easily become a go-to nude liner shade that would work with a lot of lipstick and lipgloss colors on top, but I would also wear it alone if I wanted a matte lip.
After filling in the lips with this liner and popping the lipgloss on top, I was in love with the nude lip this combo created.
Both products wear well together and last a very long time. It’s an easy look to wear every day and the gloss is just SO shiny (like clean, clear glass) that you can’t stop looking at it. The fact that these are $15 and under just adds to their appeal because these are better than a lot of lip products that are twice the price. These Birthday Suits are a home run for me, and I know I’m going to get a lot of use out of them.
